Energy efficiency and renewable energies

In recent years, we have continuously improved our production facility and optimised its energy efficiency by participating in the CO₂ reduction programme of the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (SFOE). This programme allows companies to be exempt from the CO₂ levy if they commit to clearly defined emission reductions. As part of the national climate targets, greenhouse gas emissions are to be reduced by at least 50% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. With our measures, we are actively contributing to achieving these important targets,

In addition, we utilise all available space for the installation of solar panels and obtain all of our electricity exclusively from renewable energy sources. In this way, we further minimise our ecological footprint.

Recycling and waste management

Sustainable recycling and waste management is a central component of our progressive production philosophy. Thanks to an almost closed-loop system, over 99.9 % of the solvent used in tea extraction is recycled and reused internally. All organic waste is processed into biogas in a nearby plant. We consistently and carefully separate all waste and recycle plastic, paper, cardboard, all forms of metal and other materials. These measures enable us to minimise the amount of residual waste that has to be disposed of.

Commitment in the growing regions

Together with our supply partners, we actively engage in development projects on selected tea plantations in East Africa. By implementing these projects in close collaboration with our partners, me maintain direct involvement, ensuring careful evaluation of their progress and impact. This proximity is essential for us to assess the effectiveness and sustainability of each initiative.

All projects aim to improve sustainably local living conditions. Recent initiatives include the expansion of infrastructure, such as improving water supply, building classrooms and providing school materials. By cooperating with partner companies, it is possible to implement larger projects more successfully.

Close cooperation with local partners, especially the tea plantations, ensures that the projects meet the actual needs of the community. At the same time, this partnership ensures that implementation is efficiently monitored and carefully controlled.

In the News section, we regularly provide information about our current projects, their progress and results.
